Is Christ Himself The Gospel Or The Messenger Of It?

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: [7] Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. [8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Gal. 1:6-8 (There is clearly only 1 true gospel. But this verse also shows that there are other false gospels among us. And anyone that preaches the wrong gospel is cursed. It is serious then that we know the true gospel amongst the false gospels.)

Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. Mal. 3:1 (Jesus was “the messenger of the covenant.” But was this message about himself or something else?)

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it. Luke 16:16

And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. Acts 19:8 (Paul preached about “the kingdom of God.” But what is the kingdom of God?)

And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. Acts 20:25 (Paul obviously preached the kingdom of God. What is the kingdom of God?)

And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, [31] Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him. Acts 28:30-31 (Paul differentiates the kingdom of God and “those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ.”)

But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Acts 8:12 (Philip differentiates the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ.)

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. II Cor. 11:4 (Be sure you accept the right Jesus, the right spirit, and the right gospel. There are obviously false, counterfeits of all of these that we must be aware of.)

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; [2] By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. [3] For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; [4] And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: I Cor. 15:1-4 (Paul delivered “first” the message of Christ. And “moreover” they then “also received” the gospel. So this scripture IS consistent with the others that differentiate between Christ and the gospel.)

For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. II Peter 1:11 (Peter also preached about the kingdom.)

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. [20] And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: [21] Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. Acts 3:19-21 (All the prophets preached about the kingdom of God.)

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, [15] To execute judgment upon all, Jude 1:14-15 (Enoch, who was before Noah, preached the same message of Christ’s 2nd coming to establish his kingdom, the kingdom of God.)

And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. Gal. 3:8 (God preached the gospel to Abraham. And all nations will be blessed because of this gospel. And the gospel is about the kingdom of God being established on earth by Christ and his saints.)

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: Hebrew 4:2 (The context of this verse is that the Israelites that Moses lead were in fact preached the gospel. IF the gospel was about Christ dying for our sins, how did this gospel exist before Christ had even arrived to die for our sins? The answer can only be that Christ is not the gospel. The gospel is about God’s kingdom.)

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:6-7 (The gospel of the kingdom of God is the government of Christ on earth forever.)

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jer. 23:5-6 (Christ will be a King that reigns on the earth.)

And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Dan. 2:44 (God reveals his plans to Daniel, to set up his kingdom forever in the earth. This is the gospel.)

And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and every sickness and every disease among the people. Matt. 9:35 (Jesus taught the gospel of the kingdom. This gospel was not about himself, but about his government on earth at his 2nd coming.)

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. Luke 9:1-2

Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. John 18:36 (Jesus’ kingdom comes from Heaven to earth at his 2nd coming. Jesus is talking about HIS kingdom, so IF the gospel of the kingdom of God has to do with Christ himself, this verse doesn’t make any sense.)

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3 (Many people not born again saw Jesus, therefore Jesus is not the kingdom of God.)

Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. I Cor. 15:50 (The kingdom of God is something that is inherited. We do not inherit Jesus, therefore Jesus is not the kingdom of God.)

But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever. Dan. 7:18

Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom. Dan. 7:22

And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him. Dan. 7:27 (The kingdom is not Heaven, but “under heaven.”)
