Bible "Conspiracy Theories"

And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. Luke 4:5-7 (Satan currently has power over all the kingdoms of the world and was able to give it to Jesus right then and there if he would just worship Satan. So why is it so far fetched to believe that Satan would have a global conspiracy plotted for mankind?)

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4 (Who “is in the world” that God is greater than? Answer: Satan. So does Satan have the power to deceive and manipulate world events?)

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, 2 Cor. 4:4 (Satan is described as “the god of this world.” As the god of this world, is it that far fetched to believe that the human rulers of the world would be controlled by Satan?)

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. Ps. 2:2 (All of Psalms 2 reveals a global conspiracy against the Lord and his anointed by the kings and rulers of the earth.)

Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity: Psalm 64:2 (The wicked work in secret.)

The following verses are examples of real conspiracies in the Bible. Conspiracies seemed be a common occurrence in the Bible days. Why would conspiracies today be so quickly dismissed as “conspiracy theory.” The term has become a negative term that makes people immediately dismiss possible real conspiracies as false from the outset without any further investigation. The JFK and Lincoln assassinations would just be another conspiracy of many if today was recorded for future generations. I can only imagine all the “conspiracy theory” talk among the people of the Bible days in regards to how and why their King was killed. I’m sure the conspirators lied to the people of the Bible days just as they do today to cover up their plots.
And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him. Gen. 37:18 (Joseph’s brothers conspired to kill him.)

And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom. And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom. And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword. 2 Sam. 15:12-14 (Absalom conspired with others to kill David.)

And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin. And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon. 1 Kings 15:25-27 (Baasha killed Nadab in a conspiracy.)

In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years. And his servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza steward of his house in Tirzah. And Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty and seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead… And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also slain the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp. 1 Kings 16:8-10,16 (Zimri killed Elah in a conspiracy.)

So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram… And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Yebe righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: 2 Kings 9:14 & 10:9 (Joram was killed in a conspiracy.)

And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla. For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; 2 Kings 12:20 So they executed judgment against Joash. And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings. And these are they that conspired against him; Zabad the son of Shimeath an Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith a Moabitess. 2 Chron. 24:24-26 (Joash was killed in a conspiracy.)

Now they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem: and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there. 2 Kings 14:19 Now after the time that Amaziah did turn away from following the LORD they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem; and he fled to Lachish: but they sent to Lachish after him, and slew him there. 2 Chron. 25:27 (Amaziah was killed by a conspiracy.)

In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin. And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead… And the rest of the acts of Shallum, and his conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel. 2 Kings 15:8-10,15 (Zachariah was killed through a conspiracy.)

In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years. And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin. But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room. 2 Kings 15:23-25 (Pekahiah was killed by a conspiracy.)

And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah. 2 Kings 15:30 (Pekah was killed by a conspiracy.)

Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him presents. And the king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea: for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and brought no present to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison. 2 Kings 17:3-4 (Shalmaneser stopped Hoshea’s conspiracy plot against him.)

And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his own house. 2 Kings 21:23 And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house. 2 Chron. 33:24 (Amon was killed by a conspiracy.)

And Saul spake to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David. 1 Sam. 19:1 (Saul and his servants conspired to kill David, but failed.)

And it came to pass in the morning, that David wrote a letter to Joab, and sent it by the hand of Uriah. And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die. And it came to pass, when Joab observed the city, that he assigned Uriah unto a place where he knew that valiant men were. And the men of the city went out, and fought with Joab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uriah the Hittite died also. 2 Sam. 11:14-17 (Uriah was killed by a conspiracy between David and Joab.)

Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night: And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only: And I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace. And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel. 2 Sam. 17:1-4 (Here a conspiracy is set up to kill David.)

2 Kings 10:18-28 (All the worshippers of Baal died in a conspiracy against them.)

And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them. They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people. And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died. 1 Kings 21:11-13 (Naboth was killed in a conspiracy.)

When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born… And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him. Matt. 2:3-4,13 (There was a conspiracy to kill Jesus when he was born.)

And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them. And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him. Mark 14:10-11 (Judus and the chief priests conspired to betray and arrest Jesus in order to kill him.)

After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him. John 7:1 (There was a conspiracy to kill Jesus among the Jews.)

Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee. 1 Kings 22:23 (A lying spirit controlled 400 false prophets. This is evidence of unseen forces at work deceiving mankind through human agents. It can happen.)

And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand… And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them: And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee… While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. Job 1:12,14-15,17 (The Sabeans and Chaldeans were controlled by Satan to murder Job’s servants and steal his possessions. More evidence of unseen forces dictating real world events.)

And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. Rev. 16:13-14 (More evidence of spiritual forces dictating human events in the future.)

And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. Rev. 20:7-9 (More evidence of spiritual forces dictating human events in the future.)

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Eph. 6:12 (Our battle is not against so called bad people, but against Satan and his demons, who are in “high places” in this world. Why is it so far fetched to believe that high level government people could be involved in a global conspiracy with this being the case?)
